The ultrasonic flow meter has been designed for flow surveys in liquid pipes. It is battery operated and fully weather proof with IP68 connections on the PEEK flow transducers and also where the flow cables connect to the electronic measuring circuits. Bursts of ultrasonic signals are sent from the upstream and downstream transducer almost concurrently to measuring the transit time differential which is proportional to the flow velocity. Since the pipe wall data and cross sectional area are known, it is possible to calculate volume flow. Flow profile is corrected using built in Reynolds calculations.
