Venturi Flowmeter
Venturi Tube - This differential pressure element actually forces the flow into a smaller diameter section of pipe, then measures the pressure differences between the unrestricted flow and the restricted flow. This element can be used for very accurate measurements if calibrated correctly.
A Venturi is a long passage with a restriction

The Venturi has a rather smooth entry and exit which produces a low ∆P (Delta-P)

It characteristically exhibits less pressure loss than orifice plates of a similar size. However it is normally more costly to build a Venturi than an orifice plate and once it is set in place (installed) it cannot easily be replaced.  If the flow velocity has significantly decreased or increased so that it is “out of range” it may be inconvenient to replace it.

The advantages over an orifice plate design is that there is a large throat compare to a small opening and there is much less change of foreign material building up at the constriction. Normally the foreign material will simply pass through it.

Venturi Calculator
Venturi Calculator Use the flow through Venturi tube calculator for both liquids and gases. Fluid is considered as incompressible, so density (rho) and temperature (T) are constant through the tube. Also, the gas is considered as ideal.

Units of measurement are both in SI and English .

The Flow through Venturi tube calculator can be used for calculation of:

volumetric flow - Q
mass flow - G
velocity on inlet, bigger diameter - V1
velocity on smaller diameter - V2
For calculation of those values, necessary values for input are:

inlet, bigger diameter - D1
smaller diameter - D2
inlet pressure - p1
either pressure on smaller diameter - p2, or pressure drop p1-p2
kinematic viscosity - ni, or dynamic viscosity mi
for gases only:
either temperature - T, or density - rho
gas constant - R
for liquids:
density - rho

Beside four values (Q, G, V1, V2), which calculation is main purpose of calculator, values that are not defined by user are determined in process of calculation (for example: if pressure p1 and temperature T are specified for gas flow - value for rho is calculated together with four main values (Q, G, V1, V2)
